The California Highway Patrol received reports of an accident on southbound Highway 29, which involved a tractor-trailer carrying cases of wine.? The truck driver was 200 feet south of Oakville Grade, when the trailer?s upper portion hit a hanging tree branch.? Damage to the fiberglass roof and metal structural brackets caused the trailer?s sidewalls and floor to buckle, and the truck skidded to a stop on the shoulder.
?
There was no road closure, but motorists were advised to take an alternate route to avoid the congestion.? The contents of the truck were unloaded and placed onto a replacement truck.? CHP is investigating to find out if a second vehicle came near the wine truck just before the accident, which caused the driver to go onto the shoulder.? Luckily, there was no reported collision.

As a Redwood City car accident lawyer, I caution drivers of such large vehicles to always take their time and drive carefully.
